Kristina Glenn

Cripplegate

Kristina Glenn is the former director of the Cripplegate Foundation, where she saw the funding of millions of pounds worth of local projects which addressed poverty and inequality. She worked closely with local partners, including helping to roll out the yellow ‘812’ Plus Bus Service to help people with mobility requirements get around the borough.

Glenn has worked in the voluntary sector for over 30 years, working with local and central government. She has supported community projects including groups for women ex-prisoner organisations, and youth projects. Glenn has also done extensive work supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Islington residents. Her contribution to London’s voluntary sector was recognised in 2011, when she was elected chair of London Funders, and awarded an MBE. Further recognition followed in March 2019, when Kristina was one of 106 women to be awarded the Freedom of the City of London during the commemoration of a century of women’s suffrage.

To list everything that Glenn has been involved with over 26 years of charity work in Islington would be impossible (for me at least!). She sparked the expansion of ‘giving projects’ after her tireless work for Islington Giving and is an inspiration to anyone who wants to make a change. A true powerhouse.
